Affordable Cost of Living
Not only is Montreal home to plenty of opportunities, it won’t break the bank. The cost of living in Montreal is relatively cheap in comparison to other major North American cities like Vancouver, Toronto, New York, or San Francisco.
This makes it a perfect city for students. You will be able to experience the city and visit bars, restaurants, and attractions without having to worry too much about sticking to a strict budget.
Accommodation in Montreal
Depending on where you want to live in Montreal, accommodation can be as little as $450 a month*. You could choose to live in a shared house (a colocation) with other students and young professionals, or even find a small but affordable studio apartment.
There are lots of popular neighbourhoods in Montreal. You could choose to live in the Plateau, a beautiful French neighbourhood with lots of bakeries and cafes, or in the slightly more upmarket Westmount. Alternatively there is Little Italy, Rosemont, or Hochelaga, all of which are easily accessible using Montreal’s metro network.
Cumberland College is located a short walk away from Beaubien metro on the orange line, between the Little Italy and Mile Ex neighbourhoods. It’s easily connected to the rest of Montreal by buses and metros, so students should have no problems commuting.
Although Cumberland College does not offer accommodation to students, we are on hand to answer any questions you might have about finding somewhere to stay.
